This Anushthan belong to Lord Shiva. Mantras consist of Three Words i.e. ‘Maha’, which means great, ‘Mrityun’ means death and ‘Jaya’ means victory, which turns into conquer or victory over death. It is also know as the moksha mantra of Lord Shiva.

Lord shiva is the lord of lords worshipped in the Maha Mrityunjaya Anushthan. This anushthan is performed to save one from illness and even in certain cases which could lead to death. The Maha Mrityunjaya Means to win over death. This anushthan is performed for rejuvenates, longevity, extending life expectancy, cure for chronic illness and bestows health, wealth, long life, peace, prosperity and contentment and also for protection against enemies.
