Baijnath temple is a revered shrine of Himachal Pradesh located at a distance of 16 kms from palampur in the Beas valley. Baijnath Temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Baijnath temple was built by the two native merchants by the name of Ahuka and manyuka in 1204 A.D. The temple holds significance because, according to the hindu mythology, Lord Shiva and Parvathi were married at the confluence of river Gomati and Garur Ganga.
The water of the temple is believed to contain medicinal properties, which can cure diseases of people. Due to this reason too, Baijnath temple receives thousands of people every year. Shivratri is the major festival that is observed at this temple with full gusto and fervor. Devotees visit the temple during this time to seek the blessing from the God.
